Best Buy is committed to making a positive impact in the communities we serve – on the people as well as the environment. We focus on providing teens opportunities to develop technology skills that inspire future education and career choices, and employees give their time and their finances to support initiatives important to them. We also support initiatives that help make our operations sustainable.
In honor of Earth Day this year, Best Buy helped create awareness around its recycling programs and, like the iconic “I voted” sticker voters proudly wear, customers who recycled received “I recycled” stickers of their own.
Gina Youse, General Manager at Store #1478 (Mechanicsburg, Penn.) said that accepting consumers’ electronics for recycling at our stores is an important service to the community. Local townships even have Best Buy listed on their websites as the place to recycle electronics. “We, on average, get about three to four pallets a day,” Gina said. “We thank our customers for recycling, and they seemed to have a sense of pride when we handed the sticker to them. It makes them feel good!”
